Region: Guaxupe, Brazil
Altitude: 1150 masl
Varietal: Yellow Catuai
Process: Natural
This natural Brazillian coffee comes to us from the esteemed Ribeiro do Valle family of Guaxupe. This particular microlot reminds us of roasted almonds and dark chocolate with its rich body.
The Ribeiro do Valle family have been growing in Brazil for over 136 years and 9 generations. Their first farms were planted back in the 1880s on the mountainous and fertile hills of Minas Gerais. Due to the terrain, 70% of the coffee cherries (and exclusively the specialty coffee) are hand-picked over the course of the harvest season.
Despite being such a large coffee plantation, the Ribeiro do Valle family recognise their influence on the environment and have set aside 30% of the Monte Alto farm to be a environmental conservation zone.
