Terms & Conditions: Mojo VIP App



By using your Mojo VIP Account (either as a traditional card or as the App) you agree to these terms and conditions (Terms). Any questions relating to your VIP ACCOUNT must be directed to:

References to the “Mojo VIP Account” in these terms and conditions are references to both the traditional card and the App.


To use the VIP App you must download the Mojo App by visiting the Apple App Store or Google Play. You must check regularly for updates to the Mojo App, and you must download all updates promptly.

The barcode display of the App on your mobile phone must be appropriate for scanning using our in-store software. You are responsible for any costs involved in implementing and using the Mojo App, on your mobile device.


Your VIP Account and number remain the property of Mojo Coffee Cartel Ltd. You must not copy or reproduce your VIP App or the software for the Mojo App and you must not interfere with the operation of the Mojo App or Account.


If you are already a Mojo VIP cardholder, you can link it to the App. In order to link your card, download the Mojo App from the Apple app store or Google Play and follow the instructions on screen. If the App is unable to link your accounts, please contact us via email at info@mojo.coffee with details of your card number, full name, address and email.

Once connected your information and balances will be transferred and both the traditional card and App will be linked. Either method can be used and the associated records will be updated in real time. You can use your traditional card or the App in store, both accounts will be updated regardless of which is used.


This can be done via the Top Up button on the App; funds are transferred via Payment Express. There is no limit to the total credit that can be on an account. There is a maximum in-app top up limit of $200 per top-up, but a user could do it 3 times in a row.

Or you can load your Mojo VIP Card in any Mojo café. Money loaded onto your VIP Card can be used to purchase products at any Mojo Café in New Zealand.

The Mojo VIP card is not a credit or charge card and cannot be exchanged for cash.


Purchases of all hot drinks receive a discount of 10% when purchased with your Mojo VIP Account.

You can check your current balance on the App. Details of previous transactions can also be viewed on the App.

Any account that is inactive for 12 months will be cancelled and no refunds given.



If your Mojo VIP card is lost, stolen or destroyed (including but not limited to the loss of your mobile phone containing your Mojo VIP card in the form of the App), you must contact us immediately in order to freeze any balance on your card.

Contact us on info@mojo.coffee to cancel your Mojo VIP card and transfer any balances to a new card. This card will be send to you, or a new card number emailed to you. Once received you will need to log back into the app and relink. The transferral of any balances is at the sole discretion of Mojo Coffee Cartel. Mojo Coffee Cartel does not accept responsibility for any balances lost.


Refunds of existing balances on Mojo VIP Cards are not permitted.


Your Mojo VIP Card can only be used at Mojo cafes in New Zealand. You VIP card cannot be used at any other cafes other than a Mojo branded café –even if they are customers of Mojo Coffee Cartel.


We reserve the right to vary, suspend, modify or terminate these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any changes to these Terms will be posted on the website, and issued in an update to the App.



We reserve the right to cancel your VIP Account at any time without prior notice.

You can cancel your Mojo VIP Account by writing to PO Box 19130, Courtney Place, Wellington. 6149 or emailing us at info@mojo.coffee. Upon cancellation of your Mojo VIP Card, any unused balances will expire immediately.


Upon purchasing a coffee for a friend through the app, a total of NZD$7 will be charged to the credit card attached to your Mojo VIP account. We reserve the right to change the price before a purchase is made. The credit is non-redeemable for cash and expires one year after date of purchase. 

The recipient of the gift ($7) is entitled to one price modification when ordering a hot beverage. Priced modifications are limited to a shot of syrup, decaffeinated coffee (only in the replacement of regular coffee), milk alternatives - soy, coconut or oat milk (only in replacement of regular milk), or single origin espresso (only in replacement of blended espresso).



Mojo Coffee Cartel is committed to respecting your privacy. This policy outlines how Mojo Coffee Cartel collects, protects, users and shares Personal Information gathered about you in line with the Privacy Act 1993.

All Personal Information is collected in a fair and non-intrusive manner, with your voluntary consent. Mojo Coffee Cartel respects the privacy of our customers and other visitors to our websites who may choose to provide Personal Information.

What type of Information do we collect?

Personal Information is any information about an identifiable individual. Personal Information may include but is not limited to - identifying information such as name, home address, telephone number and e-mail address, information about your preference for goods and services and details of any prizes you may have won.

How Information is used

When Mojo Coffee Cartel receives information about you, we may use it for research, or to improve our sites and services. We will ask if you want us to use that information to continue to contact you, for example to send out new product information or newsletters. If you do not want us to contact you, you can choose to ‘opt out’.

Any information from promotions, competitions or other marketing activity are held for up to 4 months after the prize draw date. After this they are destroyed in a secure manner.

Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell Personal Information to third parties. Mojo Coffee Cartel reserves the right to disclose Personal Information to a third party if a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena, or court order legally requires or authorises us to do so. We may also share Personal Information for further processing in accordance with the purpose(s) for which the data were originally collected, e.g. third party maintenance of secure listing databases or prize fulfilment in connection with a contest or promotion.

Cookies Internet Users

In addition to Personal Information, we use data collection devices such as "cookies" on certain web pages to help analyse our web page flow and measure promotional effectiveness. Cookies are pieces of information a website sends to an individual’s hard drive while they are viewing the website. Cookies allow the website to remember important information that will make your visit to the site more useful. We use cookies to help improve your future visits. If you do not wish to receive a cookie or if you wish to set your browser to warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or if you wish to turn off all cookies, use the options on your browser to assist you. The Help option on your browser may assist you in changing your cookie preferences. Please note that by turning cookies off, you will not have access to many features available on our website.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in this privacy policy, by email, or by means of a notice on our website.

To the extent permitted by law, we do not accept responsibility for, and we will not be liable for, any loss or damage suffered by you, however caused, in connection with or arising from your Mojo VIP Card or use of the Mojo App or the virtual card, including but not limited to:

  • any delay in replacing your Mojo VIP Card
  • any unauthorised use of your Mojo VIP Card or the Mojo App;
  • any problems or technical malfunction of the Mojo App, the virtual card, or any network or lines, servers or providers;
  • any failure to notify you of any changes in these Terms; or
  • any failure to notify you of cancellation of your Mojo VIP Card

You hereby irrevocably hold us harmless from all claims, suits, demands, actions, proceedings which you have or in the future may have against us, and shall indemnify and release us from all and any claims for damages or otherwise in the terms of, and in connection with or arising from your VIP Card or the virtual card, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
You acknowledge and agree that all decisions pertaining to Mojo VIP Cards matters rest solely with us and our decision is final.
All conditions and warranties, whether express or implied and whether arising under legislation or otherwise, as to the condition, suitability, quality, fitness or safety of any goods or services supplied under or in relation to your Mojo VIP Card are expressly excluded to the full extent permitted by law.

Any liability we may have to you under legislation in respect of such goods and services which cannot be excluded is limited, where permitted, to supplying, or paying the cost of supplying, the goods or services again.
You may have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 which are not excluded or limited by anything set out in these Terms. Each exclusion or limitation of liability in these Terms also applies to the owners and operators of Mojo cafes and all associated companies.
